About The Embodied Life™
What is The Embodied Life™? The Embodied Life™ combines Meditation, Feldenkrais, and Guided Inquiry, to help us bring presence and joy to the living moment. This powerful and flexible set of practices helps us live in the real world with greater equanimity and insight. The Embodied Life™ was developed by Russell Delman over 35 years of study ranging from Zen and Feldenkrais® to life in family relationship.
How did Carol become a Mentor of The Embodied Life™? Carol studied with Russell Delman from 2006-2010 to become a certified Mentor of The Embodied Life™.
How is The Embodied Life™ taught? The three main components of The Embodied Life™ are Embodied Meditation, Feldenkrais® Movement lessons, and Guided Inquiry. All help to bring presence and curiosity to the living moment.
- Embodied Meditation is based in an atmosphere of openness and kindness as we bring presence to the thoughts, feelings and sensations that arise from moment to moment.
- Feldenkrais® movement lessons are a unique, neurologically based approach to eliminating ineffective habits of standing, breathing, sitting, walking as well as unconscious contractions due to stress and trauma reactions. These habits can contribute to our diseases and self-limiting behaviors. Our natural healing and learning capacity can be liberated through these movement lessons.
- Guided Inquiry is a study of our physical/mental habits, belief structures, relational and communication patterns. Through talks, interactive experiments, games and listening deeply to the wisdom of our bodies we can become free from ineffective behavioral patterns and inaccurate identity structures. Bringing a curious and open presence to all that arises in our experience is the means.
Carol is currently offering both group and private classes in The Embodied Life™ at her Ballard studio. If you are interested, please send her an email via the Contact Carol page.
